A former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, on Sunday advised the People’s Democratic Party to field a northern candidate to win the 2023 presidency.

In a series of tweets, the socio-political activist said the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), would hand over the North to any candidate from the South in the elections.

He said, however, that the PDP could avoid losing if the party fielded a northern candidate and not a southerner in 2023.

He wrote, “Buhari has always had a captive audience of 12 million Northerners.

“If PDP presents a southerner in 2023, its 12 million captive audience will obey Buhari’s order to vote for Tinubu. And he will win. The only way for them not to obey him is if the PDP introduces a northerner! »

The punch reported that the PDP had disqualified two of the 17 presidential candidates it had selected on Friday.

The chairman of the selection committee, Senator David Mark, revealed this to reporters shortly after the end of the exercise at Legacy House, Abuja, at 7 p.m.

He, however, declined to disclose the identities of the disqualified contenders or the reasons for their disqualification.

Mark simply noted that the midshipmen did not meet the requirements.

The President also affirmed that the report from Friday’s screening will be forwarded to the PDP National Working Committee for consideration tonight.
