November 15, 1921 – January 2, 2022

Burial date: March 26, 2022

Roy E. Kuehn, 100, died Jan. 2 at his home in Arnold.

He was born on November 15, 1921 in St. Louis to Edwin A. and Emma (Boettcher) Kuehn, and was married to Grace Catherine Kuehn (née Cook) on August 9, 1945.

Roy started as a blueprint boy, but became a design engineer for Alcoa Aluminum and Sverdrup and Parcel. He enjoyed playing tennis, making ceramics, singing and living in the countryside. He and Grace Kuehn owned Kiln Joys Ceramic and Deja Vu Dolls and had a store near Bevo Mill in St. Louis. Roy and Grace lived in South County for 30 years and in Salem, Missouri for 30 years. He and Grace were married for 76 years. Roy sang all the time and loved the music. Roy was amazed that he lived to be 100. He never thought he would reach this age. Even at that age, he was pushing Grace on her walker to her chair to eat. He and Grace will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Roy E. Kuehn Jr. of Goleta, CA, Scott (Lisa) Kuehn of Santa Barbara, CA, Chris (late Dennis) Ballance of Fenton, Cindy (Mark) of Arnold; grandchildren Kaitlyn Kuehn, Jennifer (Jake) Null, Richard (Brandy) Ballance, Stephen (Anna) Ballance, Mark (Shelly) Minnella, David Minella and Michelle (Zack) Bridgewater; great-grandchildren Cordelia and Jacob Null, Zachariah and Vivian Ballance, Jaiden, Kaylin and Violet Minnella and Carter, Cohen and Autumn Bridgewater; and his nieces and nephews Erin, Bill, Sue, Carol and the late George.
