On the Punk Foodie Underground Restaurant Calendar this weekend, you’ll find a total of 119 (and counting) underground dining events with 67 ITPs and 52 OTPs. This week, we’re highlighting events that offer vegan options.
For vegans, the West End really is the best as it is the area where a lot of the vegan activity takes place. @heapsatl offers a vegan version of New Zealand-style meat pies at @boggssocial on Fridays and Sundays; check his site for other places and days he offers his pies throughout the city. If you’re looking for vegan Mexican, including birria, this Friday, you’ll find @calaveritasatl at @thewindow.food where you’ll also find @carrotdogatl on Saturday with a wide variety of hot dog styles in vegan (carrot) form. And next door, on Saturday and Sunday, you’ll find @wonderfultastingfood launching their vegan fast food at @metatl.
Outside of the West End, vegans will be happy to know that this week @vivsvegankitchen kicks off their residency at @qommunityeav in East Atlanta Village with lunch Wednesday-Friday and lunch/dinner Saturday. In OTP you can find Calaveritas at Marietta at @atlantahardcider and Sunday at Stone Mountain at @outrunbrewingco. And it might be a hike south, but the Veganish Food Truck Park seems to be in full force in Jonesboro now with events almost every Friday through Sunday.
And while they’re not on the schedule this week, be on the lookout for @vegetopiacart and @7suns_2moons popping up around town often.
