Prom Closet will return to St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church next month. Hosted by United Methodist Women, the annual event provides free prom outfits to more than 1,000 high school girls. Organizers are requiring pre-registration this year to minimize wait times and improve the shopping experience.

The event will take place on February 15, 16, 17, 19, as well as February 21 and 26. To register for a one and a half hour shopping time slot, go to standrewumc.org/promcloset.

“We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting Prom Closet this year and are excited to try out early registration, eliminating long lines and providing ample space for each shopper to select their dress. and its perfect accessories,” Devra Helffrich, an original Prom Closet organizer, mentioned. “Obviously, we couldn’t do this without the support and donations from the community and our wonderful volunteers. This will be the thirteenth Prom Closet. Organizers are still accepting donations of dresses (sizes 0-30), jewelry, shoes, handbags and shawls. All donations can be dropped off at St. Andrew’s, January 14 through February 25, in Room 121, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.; and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Donors are asked to use the north entrance door located next to the north parking lot, 1401 Mira Vista.
