Did you know that Ball State offers free legal aid to all currently enrolled Ball State campus students and organizations? You can schedule a meeting for a consultation or go to the office to get brochures outlining the number of services you can use. Make sure you know your rights before signing a lease, starting a new job, or getting into trouble with the law.

How can Student Legal Services (SLS) help you?

SLS attorneys can help you with all areas of civil law, including employment, landlord/tenant, real estate, and even traffic tickets. They can also provide you with the necessary legal reference documents for leases, roommate agreements, and other legal documents. In hopefully rarer cases, they can provide assistance in criminal justice matters.

How can SLS help you?

SLS can provide you with the information you need to defend your rights, starting with preventative education and counseling to equip students with the knowledge to understand their legal rights and resolve their issues. The Legal Resource Center will also provide legal information in relation to a student’s questions. In more serious situations, SLS can provide a referral to an appropriate private attorney depending on their situation.
