The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for managing Rice Architecture’s publications program – both print and digital – serving as the main point of contact for all academic publications and editorial needs, including Rice Design Alliance, the branch of school community involvement. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, school handouts, textbooks, curriculum brochures, posters, Cite magazine, and the Architecture at Rice book series.
Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, publication committees and the entire school communications team, as well as external editors, designers and printers, the Editor-in-Chief develops and implements strategies publications that promote the academic excellence and public reach of Rice Architecture, expanding global awareness. of its programs, research and creative practice. Rice Architecture is a premier school in one of the most diverse cities in the United States. Both the Architecture at Rice series and Cite Magazine have a long history of thoughtful content, ranging from cutting-edge faculty research and creative practice to urban, social, and civic articles and commentary.
This position is exempt and entitled to benefits, and the salary range is $55,000 to $68,000, depending on experience. On the job application, please include a resume, letter of interest, and writing sample. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
