The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) announces the 2022 Lyme Disease Awareness Month Poster Contest. This contest is for Maine students in kindergarten through 8th grade to raise awareness about disease prevention. tick-borne diseases. The theme for the 2022 Lyme Disease Awareness Month Poster Contest is “Tick ​​wise.”

The Maine CDC encourages students to show how “Tick Wise” they are. Posters must illustrate at least one of the four personal prevention approaches:

  • Be careful in tick-infested areas
  • Use an EPA-approved repellent
  • Wear protective clothing
  • Perform daily sight and touch tick checks

The Maine CDC will choose one winner each from the K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th and 6th-8th grades. One winning poster will become the Maine CDC’s 2022 Lyme Disease Awareness Poster.
