The magazines are there. E-magazines, that is. And thousands of them. E-magazines are now available through Overdrive and the Overdrive Libby app, which are free digital platforms available to customers when they log in with their Cheboygan area public library card.

Shannon Huneycutt, KonMari Certified Consultant, will join the Cheboygan LIVE Area Public Library from Charlotte, North Carolina. Shannon will present her “Spark Joy” webinar based on Marie Kondo’s “Life-Changing Magic of Tidying” philosophy. Shannon will show you how to organize your home so that all you have is “Spark Joy” in your life.

This webinar will be hosted at the library but can also be viewed from home on Zoom. The Zoom link is available on the library’s events calendar at and on the library’s Facebook page. Otherwise, the address is and the password is sjc141 if you prefer to enter the web address manually.

The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Shannon has also promised a special gift that she will give at the end of the program. Shannon asks participants to bring a standard t-shirt and pants for the folding activity during which she will teach the famous KonMari vertical folding technique. There will also be a question-and-answer period after the program.

Storytime with Ms. Nancy is another big event going on. Join her on Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. from January 4 to February 4. 22 for weekly story time and a fun activity. This is a free and entertaining program for children.

If you haven’t had a chance to stop and see the new 3D printer in action, you still can. The library’s new 3D printer is on display in the library’s genealogy room, which is busy creating 3D models of a variety of items. More information will be available on how customers will be able to use the 3D printer soon.
