“In August, Tom Boulton of typetom.com is once again transforming the gallery into his print studio, and you’ll find an interactive exhibition between dinosaurs and the trippy photographic art of Ed Watts. The next step will be a joint exhibition of Dee Rose and Mel Elston-Mendones, paired with new and old art in Michele Morrod’s solo show and Glenn Phur’s painted for your home portraits to wrap up the month.

Tom Boulton: GUY PRESS NOW! August 2-6: “Watch the Colonnade House gallery transform into Tom Boulton’s printing studio for the second time since 2018 in an exhibition showcasing a more recent collection of his experimental letterpress prints and products. Reserve one Tom’s interactive typography workshops, with dates available throughout the week.

Ed Watts: Adventures in Invisible Light & Dippy the Dino Show-osaurus, August 9-14: “Not one, but two showcases take place in the Ed Watts exhibit at Colonnade House. Explore Ed’s devotion to the Cyanotype photography process which he combined with beautiful views and interesting objects discovered on his many hikes through the South Downs. Having been able to contemplate his captivating photographs will allow you to have fun seeing Dippy the Dino on his adventures through Worthing and beyond.

Dee Rose and Mel Elston-Mendones: DM, August 16-21: “Experience an explosion of color in this joint exhibition between textile artist Dee Rose and intuitive painter Mel Elston-Mendones. Witnessing the artwork of dedicated upcycler Dee, who has created art using collected materials over the past two years, combined with Mel’s intuitive focus on the imagination while painting the eyes closed, will definitely leave you intrigued for more.

Michele Morrod: Eclectic Mix, August 16-21: “With years of experience in graphic design and now retired, working in her garden studio, Michele Morrod uses a wide range of artistic mediums upon her return to Colonnade. She uses colors inspired by the structure of natural forms and oriental themes like ceramics, textiles and geishas as a starting point, using digital art, painting, collage and many more in her eclectic mix.

Glenn Phur: Art for your Home – Art for your Heart, August 23 – September 4: “Studio member Glenn Phur presents portrait paintings designed specifically to fit anywhere in the comfort of your home. In some of his recent work, he has worked on a collection called Little Red Boat, featuring playful characters and illustrative storytelling.
