Vera bradley lovers, rejoice! A new hotel designed by one of the brand’s co-founders will open its doors on July 15, with reservations already available (book your stay here!).
Located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the Bradley Hotel is the result of an alliance between Barbara Baekgaard and Provenance Hotels. The 124 rooms of the place that bears its name were designed by Dutch oriental design, with furnishings including floral upholstered headboards, gilded arched mirrors, and custom botanical-inspired typographic prints, the latter of which were made by Julie Wall of Hedge studios.
“Dutch East Design had the chance to design both the visual identity and the interior decoration [of The Bradley]”Said Larah Moravek, co-founder of Dutch East Design. Beautiful House. “We wanted the property to faithfully reflect the city as well as the owner’s sensibility, and we used patterns and heritage to guide our design narrative for the hotel.”
Beyond the charming decor of the many rooms at the Bradley, which includes nine suites, there’s also a rooftop bar, where you can fully immerse yourself in the Fort Wayne cityscape. And if you’re looking for even more Instagram-friendly decor beyond your bedroom, look no further than the hotel’s rugs, which are wrapped in a peony motif, a tribute to the state flower. from Indiana. Another place-specific tribute? The hotel logo, which honors the many engraving companies in Fort Wayne history.
Additionally, all of the Bradley’s artwork has been commissioned by local artists, such as Theoplis Smith III (AKA Laundry Phresh), who is known for his vibrant murals across Fort Wayne and his pop-culture-inspired artwork. He created scenic nature-inspired paintings for the hotel, while the Fort Wayne Purdue University Department of Art and Design produced a rotating art gallery.
Suffice it to say, we know where we’ll be booking a stay this summer and we might even sport one of Vera Bradley’s famous paisley designs when we arrive!
